Terms & Conditions

Version 6 · Effective 3 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to assembly services you book directly with Auswide Assembly Pty Ltd (ABN 69 687 554 098) — including bookings made through a quote we have sent you.

Where you have booked an assembly service through a retailer, your agreement is with that retailer and their terms apply.

By accepting your quote and making payment, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Us

Auswide Assembly Pty Ltd is an independent furniture assembly service. We are not affiliated with any retailer or manufacturer unless expressly stated. Your purchase of any furniture is a separate contract between you and the retailer or manufacturer.

2. Our Service

We assemble only the items listed on your quote and in accordance with the manufacturer’s assembly instructions.

Items not listed on your quote are not included unless agreed in writing before the appointment.

We reserve the right to refuse assembly where a product is unsafe, structurally damaged, incomplete or otherwise unsuitable for assembly.

3. Quotes

  • Quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.
  • All prices are inclusive of GST.
  • Quotes are based on the information you provide.
  • If the products to be assembled differ from those quoted, additional charges may apply before work commences.

4. Payment

Full payment must be received before your booking is confirmed.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe and a tax invoice will be issued automatically by email. Your invoice number is the same as your quote number.

5. Booking Fee

Every booking includes a non-refundable $60 Booking Fee, which covers administration, scheduling and connecting you with an installer.

If Auswide Assembly cancels your booking and cannot provide the service or offer a reasonable alternative appointment, the Booking Fee will be refunded in full.

6. Your Responsibilities

Before the installer arrives, you must:

  • have all products, parts and manufacturer instructions on site and in the room where they will be assembled
  • provide safe and unobstructed access to the assembly area
  • provide adequate working space, lighting and ventilation
  • ensure an adult aged 18 years or older is present throughout the appointment
  • keep children and pets safely away from the work area.

Failure to meet these requirements may delay or prevent completion of the service.

Products delivered elsewhere on your property

Moving products from another part of your property to the assembly area is not part of the assembly service and is not included in your quote.

Where it is safe to do so, your installer may agree to move them for an additional charge, arranged and paid directly with the installer. As set out in Section 10, any such arrangement is a separate agreement between you and the installer. It is not covered by Auswide Assembly’s workmanship warranty or insurance, and Auswide Assembly is not responsible for it or for any damage arising from it.

Your installer may decline to move products where they consider it unsafe. If the assembly cannot then proceed, Section 7 applies.

7. Access Delays & Re-attendance

If our installer cannot start or complete the assembly because the requirements in Section 6 have not been met, a $60 re-attendance fee will apply.

Examples include:

  • products not being on site or in the assembly area
  • missing parts or instructions
  • unsafe or blocked access
  • inadequate space, lighting or ventilation
  • no adult aged 18 years or older present
  • children or pets entering the work area.

If our installer cannot access the property, they will wait up to 20 minutes past the agreed appointment time. After that the appointment will need to be rescheduled and the $60 re-attendance fee applies.

8. Cancellations & Rescheduling

You may reschedule your booking free of charge by providing at least 24 hours’ notice.

Rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a new Booking Fee.

If you cancel before work begins, all monies paid will be refunded except the non-refundable $60 Booking Fee.

If Auswide Assembly cancels your booking and cannot offer a reasonable alternative appointment, you will receive a full refund.

9. Adjustments to Your Quote

Our quotes are prepared from the product information available to us. Occasionally an item turns out to need less work than quoted — for example, it arrives pre-assembled or requires only unpacking and positioning.

Where that happens, we will re-price the item at the correct rate and refund the difference to your original payment method. We will do this whether or not you raise it with us.

Where an item needs more work than quoted, we will contact you for approval before any additional charge applies. We will never charge you more than your accepted quote without your agreement.

10. Extra Work

Only the items listed on your quote and paid for through Auswide Assembly are covered by your agreement with us, including our workmanship warranty and insurance.

Any additional work arranged directly with an installer, including furniture assembly or any other services not booked and paid for through Auswide Assembly, is a separate agreement between you and the installer. Auswide Assembly accepts no responsibility or liability for that work.

11. Missing Parts & Manufacturing Faults

If assembly cannot be completed because parts are missing, incorrect or damaged, payment remains payable for work already completed.

A $60 return visit fee (including GST) applies once replacement parts become available.

Where possible, the installer will provide photographs or other evidence to assist you in resolving the issue with the retailer or manufacturer.

Manufacturing defects, damaged components and missing parts remain the responsibility of the retailer or manufacturer.

12. Wall Anchoring

Where recommended by the manufacturer, wall anchoring is strongly recommended and is included where specified on your quote.

If you decline wall anchoring, or where walls are suspected of containing asbestos, you will be asked to complete a waiver — which may be completed electronically — acknowledging that:

  • the manufacturer’s recommendation has been explained
  • you have chosen to decline the anchoring service
  • you accept responsibility for any risks arising solely from that decision.

Completing that waiver does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Customers are responsible for advising us of any known concealed electrical wiring, plumbing, gas pipes or other hidden services within walls.

Additional charges may apply for non-standard wall types.

13. Packaging Removal

Packaging will only be removed where this service is included on your quote.

Unless otherwise agreed, all packaging will remain on site.

14. Workmanship Warranty

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 30 days from the date of completion.

If an assembly issue arises due to our workmanship, we will return and rectify the issue at no additional cost.

This warranty does not cover:

  • manufacturing defects
  • missing or incorrect parts
  • accidental damage
  • misuse
  • modifications made after assembly
  • furniture moved after assembly.

15. Inspection & Damage Claims

Customers should inspect the completed assembly before the installer leaves where reasonably practicable and advise of any concerns immediately.

If you believe damage occurred during assembly, you must notify us within 48 hours and provide photographs where possible.

Failure to notify us within this period may affect our ability to investigate the claim.

We are not responsible for:

  • pre-existing damage
  • manufacturing defects
  • damage caused after completion through misuse, relocation or modification
  • minor alignment changes resulting from carpet settling or normal loading of drawers and doors.

16. Exclusions

Unless specifically included in your quote, our service does not include:

  • moving existing furniture
  • moving products from another part of your property to the assembly area (see Section 6)
  • dismantling existing furniture
  • electrical work
  • plumbing work
  • building work
  • wall repairs
  • disposal of unwanted furniture
  • rubbish removal.

17. Delays

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including supplier delays, severe weather, illness, accidents, traffic, road closures, natural disasters or other unforeseen events.

18. Photographs

Our installers may take photographs before, during and after assembly for:

  • quality assurance
  • warranty claims
  • insurance purposes
  • dispute resolution
  • internal training.

Photographs are not used for marketing or promotional purposes without your separate consent.

Reasonable care will be taken to avoid photographing personal belongings where practicable.

19. Privacy

We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to provide our services.

Your information may be shared with:

  • the installer attending your booking
  • Stripe for payment processing
  • trusted service providers involved in scheduling or administration.

We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws. Where available, our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

20. Independent Installers

Installers engaged by Auswide Assembly are independent contractors.

Your agreement is with Auswide Assembly, and all warranty claims, complaints and service requests must be directed to Auswide Assembly.

Any work arranged directly between you and an installer is separate from your agreement with Auswide Assembly.

21. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Subject to those rights and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Auswide Assembly’s liability for any claim arising from the provision of our services is limited to the amount paid for those services;
  • we are not liable for any indirect, consequential or economic loss, including loss of profits, loss of opportunity or business interruption; and
  • we are not responsible for damage arising from customer instructions, misuse, product defects or matters outside our reasonable control.

22. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

23. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

24. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
